Happy children's day! In celebration of this day I prepared a few activities that will leave you happy crying from fun + a secret download link!
1. Freeze Tag.
As you probably figured, it's like regular tag except you freeze when tagged.
You can play it with a couple of your friends and if they tell you to stop being childish, tag them anyway!
2. Musical chairs.
They don't have to be chairs - you can play on pillows or picnic blankets.
3. Make pebble coasters.
Here's a cool recipe for that. It's three simple ingredients and so much fun!
4. Play catch with Velcro paddles.
I remember loving that activity when I was a child! My cousins and I used to play with the paddles when ever we got a chance.
5. Have a backyard movie night with Disney.
Here's how to set it up and here is a list of great Disney films for such evenings.
Oh, and here is a more technical take on it.
6. Have a cruelty-free picnic with your pet.
1. Hot potato.
All you need is a bean bag or a soft ball and a group of people. Pretend that the ball is hot and if you keep it too long, you get burned.
2. Floor is lava.
This one is really easy. All you need is couches, chairs and pillows.
It is more fun if you make it a battle between two, using long balloons. See who falls first.
The winner gets to pick the film for the night!
3. Simon says.
A game that doesn't have to be introduced, but I will do it.. just in case.
All you need is a group of people and pick someone to be Simon.
All you do is listen and do what Simon says to do, but Simon can play tricks on the participants to make them do things he didn't tell them to do. The last person that remains in the game is the next Simon.
4. Orange crush.
This is a game I found on todaysparent.com.
"Bounce the ball while singing:
Orange: Bounce the ball off the wall and catch it.
Crush: Throw it against the wall and let it bounce before you catch it.
Pepsi: Bounce it on the ground, then the wall.
Cola: Throw it against the wall by tossing it under your leg.
Add variations, such as clapping or hopping on one foot."
5. Create a blanket fort.
6. Build it together - Lego edition.
Unless you've got some good carpentry skills, I suggest using Lego for this one. At least you're not risking a serious injury - though anyone who ever stepped on Lego with their bare foot would probably beg to differ.
You can build a dollhouse, a dog house or even an entire town - it's even better if you have one of those road rugs. Then you can pretend to have car crashes!
