I think I was about 15 when I took her from the shelter.
Ever since I can remember I've been asking for a dog. First it was a cat since me and my best friend Alice once found a cat lying on one of the steps leading to my door. We took care of it for several months before the kitten disappeared. I think she (my bestie) found it and just took care of it until it just went away to another house.
Anyways my „pet taste” changed when I saw my cousin's dog and wanted it so bad. I couldn't have it because my dad is a surgeon and he's „seen what a dog can do” plus I was once bitten in underneath my arm (arm fat?) and passed out and I think I went to hospital... or something. I would have to ask him but he's not here.
But I was a very stubborn child (that didn't change one bit) and everytime someone asked me what I wanted for birthday, christmas or any other (or not) occasion, I said that I wanted a dog.
So.. time passed and after about 5 years of my patience and asking for a dog my mum finally decided that she will go to an animal shelter with me.
We went once and I really really liked this big, thin, grey and very shy doggie who was apparently only 13 months old.
So my mum said that she will think about it.
In about two weeks we went back to the shelter to see if the dog is still there and if i really am sure about it. Apparently some other girl took the doggie. I was destroyed. But luckily I went to see the doggies once more.
When I walked over the place the young „non-shelter” doggies were, they all gathered and started barking and jumping. I was looking at them and was not sure about neither of them.
Suddenly a tiny little doggie BOLTED out of the building and jumped so high I had to look up to see it. That was my dog. I knew that we were soulmates and we have been best friends ever since.
Now, nearly 7 years after that happened I'm sitting here by my desk typing this with her sitting on the floor watching over me with her ears open wide as she's listening to whatever noise I make (yes, I make weird noises) and her tail brushing happily over the floor.
Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed it and if you have a pet and would like to share the story with it, type it down in the comment section or if you have a blog with a post like that, feel free to send me a link :3
Hi, I believe that there is no one today who is you-er than you.
